God is love. To know God, we must understand that love. Love is not just an emotion, but an essential element that comes from our relationship with God.

God is love, and those who know that love should be able to love. Love is essential in our faith life, and without love, we are nothing. The love described in the Bible is not based on emotions, but is a love of obedience that even loves our enemies. To experience and practice this kind of love, intentional decisions are necessary, and it is important to restore relationships through forgiveness and sacrifice.
- 1 Corinthians 13 1. If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don’t have love, I have become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal. 2. If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but don’t have love, I am nothing. 3. If I dole out all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don’t have love, it profits me nothing. 4. Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, 5. doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; 6. doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; 7. bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with. 9. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part; 10. but when that which is complete has come, then that which is partial will be done away with. 11. When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child. Now that I have become a man, I have put away childish things. 12. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, even as I was also fully known. 13. But now faith, hope, and love remain—these three. The greatest of these is love.
- 1 Peter 4:8 8. And above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins.

How is God introduced in the sermon?
The sermon emphasized God as 'a loving being', explaining that God's love is the core of faith.
As we live our faith, there is perhaps no word we hear more often or are more familiar with than the word love. Even today, as we worship, we sing hymns about the loving God, hymns about love, and the Bible verses reflect this as well. Today's scripture passage speaks about God's identity, stating that God is love. Therefore, those who belong to God, those who love, must be people who know how to love. If someone claims to know God but does not love, that person is a liar. The children of God, who are loved by the Father, must know how to love.
Isn't that right? God sent Jesus into this world to save it, but what was the motivation behind that? For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son. When Jesus came, He was asked, "What is the greatest commandment?" He replied by speaking of loving God and loving one's neighbor. He commands us to love God with all our heart and to love our neighbor as ourselves. And He gathered His disciples and said, "Boys, when you live in this world, what will make the world know that you are my disciples? It will be by seeing you love one another."
The Apostle Paul, who quoted the Old Testament extensively, also speaks in 1 Corinthians 13, often referred to as the chapter of love. He says, "Even if I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, if I have not love, I am nothing." It means that no matter how diligently I attend church, how rich my biblical knowledge is, or how much I give, if I lack love, it is of no use. This shows how important love is; it is not an option but a necessity. Without it, we are nothing.
